A background in marketing provides you with the understanding and skills needed to align
customer needs to an organisation’s output of goods, services or information. A strong understanding of marketing principles is essential for any marketing position, as customer sales ultimately determine the success of an organisation. You will consider how a customer-centric focus ensures the demand for an organisation’s output continues to grow in a globally competitive environment. The Marketing major includes study in areas such as consumer behaviour, promotion, advertising, market research, project and channel management and strategic marketing. This major is taught through a combination of lectures, tutorials, workshops, and other in-class activities. Undertaking a Marketing major at UWA involves studying with one of the best group of marketing academics in the country, with expertise in such areas as services marketing, not-for-profit and social marketing, marketing communication and marketing innovation. This comprehensiveness means you will be studying with academics at the forefront of the marketing area. For UWA Business School postgraduate degrees a minimum of 7.0 overall with no band less than 6.5 is required
Essay Rating / Test of Written English (TWE) of 4.5 and either 230 (Computer-based) or 570 (Paper-based) score
Next Generation TOEFL – Internet-based Test (iBT): An overall score of 90 with a minimum score of 22 in the Writing section, and no less than 20 in the other sections
International postgraduate scholarship applicants require a score of 580 (paper based) or 237 (computer-based) with a TWE of 4.5
For UWA Business School postgraduate degrees, a minimum overall score of 600 (Paper-based) with a TWE of 5 is required; or 250 (computer-based) or 100 (iBT) with a minimum score of 26 in iBT Speaking and no less than 24 in the other sections.
